Who is Osama Obama?

Are things just too confusing in the world right now?  I work in a high school and two girls were being tutored in World History.  One of the girls said she does not like dictators like Hitler, Hussein, and Osama Obama.

Sometimes it is really difficult to keep from laughing.  Gems from your kids!

Thanks for the comment. I know the names can get confusing. I see the names of Obama and Biden, sometimes really fast and have to do a double take thinking I just saw the name Osama Bin…
I can imagine the dyslexics of the world are struggling with this one, since I consider myself only a part time dyslexic.

Dyslexia aside…I can’t see the humor in someone thinking that it is a laughing matter to be misinformed–and in a HIGH SCHOOL class room setting? Come on-what are you really teaching kids if you think this funny? If they are in high school, you should really be working to help them become better informed young people.

I guess I should have explained that this was not in the classroom, but at the school I work at we have a room with credentialed teachers who counsel students and we spend quite a bit of time tutoring them. We work long days often with no break for lunch and getting to the bathroom is a luxury. If there is a student who needs help, we stay and help them rather than take a break.
We are highly qualified to do our jobs and as a result of how much we care, our school has been top ranked in performance in a low income area for the past 3 years. We have found ways to teach children based on individual help and caring.

I did not mention this in the post. However, the students were taught the difference in names and who is the Presidential candidate and who is the person sought after for terrorism. We do want our students to be informed, and we have the luxury of spending countless hours to educate them.

I am sorry if you were offended by my post.
