Is The Fugue in D Minor Scary to You?

October 31, 2008 at 6:47 pm (Random Rambles) (, , , , , , )

I remember hearing this as a little kid and thinking it was the scariest music I had ever heard.  LOL.  I guess those were simplier times.

However it is Halloween and to celebrate I am sharing my scary music choice in a less than scary presentation.  If you have almost nine minutes to watch some dots set to music it is sort of fun the way they set this up.  Ok maybe it is not your idea of fun.  However this is one of the classics.  I always imagine someone playing this in an old movie theatre before the talkies came out and everyone glued to their seat to see the mummy attack the innocent victim.

Enjoy!  Happy Halloween.

I have an update to Jarod’s Make A Wish party on this page: Party Page

However here is one of his latest videos after his party.  Make A Wish is an outstanding organization and you can see how happy they have made this family, too.

Thank you to all who have helped Jarod.  Please keep your thoughts and prayers going for this family.

To follow Jarod’s Journey in his care pages you are more than welcome to click the link, and meet the family and join in the journey with your thoughts, prayers, and comments.  Jarod’s Care Pages.  You will have to register when you are there, but they never ask you for money or solicit you with emails other than to update you on Jarod’s Journey.

The family appreciates all the support they can get and the words of encouragement are always welcome.

One Aunt’s Way To Make A Difference

October 8, 2008 at 4:14 am (Motivation-Inspiration) (, , , , , , , )

There is no greater love than the love of good relatives.  What this aunt is doing is going out of her comfort zone to raise money for her nephew.    She is going to run a marathon hoping to raise some money for her nephew who is in the hospital due to heart surgery.

Here is a brief quote from the blog.

THE STORY~
My 11-month-old nephew, Hayden (son of my sister Molly and brother-in-law John, and brother of Layne) was born with a couple heart conditions. At the beginning of August, he was airlifted to U of M Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he underwent open-heart surgery to repair the faulty valve in his heart. Molly and John have been down there with him since the beginning of August. Shortly after the surgery, they learned that the surgery to repair the valve, did not work as anticipated, and therefore, he will underwent another open-heart surgery to replace the valve. Hence, an even longer stay in the hospital….but he is on the road to recovery!

Here is where the blog is located so you can donate.  Yes they are asking for some donations to help them through this difficult time.  Imagine the hospital bills they must be facing.  Imagine how this takes parents away from their jobs.

Just like Jarod Mainland’s family has help from their church and untold friends, here is another family who can use a “boost”.

Check out the blog.

If you can not donate perhaps you can keep the family (and Jarod, too) in your prayers.  Never underestimate the power of prayers.

Thanks for reading!

Bryan Duncan Video

October 6, 2008 at 7:00 pm (Motivation-Inspiration) (, , , , , )

If you have ever seen him in concert you will never forget him.  Maybe Bryan Duncan is old school, but he sure got me through one of the worst years of my life with his music.  Now there is a YouTube video of the song I listened to so many times and I still never get tired of it.  I could wake up to this song every morning.  It is pure inspiration for each and every day.  Share this with someone going through a difficult time.

Let me know if you enjoy it.

My Random Post-It Notes Rhyme

October 5, 2008 at 7:33 am (Motivation-Inspiration) (, , , , , )

Hey if you are an English or Poetry major please do not grade this. This is for fun, and now it is shown as being published by me first. YAY. Well since I wrote it I guess it should be published by me first.

I like colorful post-it notes.
Aqua and Purple get my votes.
I work so much more than I play.
I write sticky notes every day.
Post it notes are everywhere.
I have more and I will share.
Do you like red or do you want blue?
I will make a sticky picture for you.
When I run out the supply room has more!
They are free for me-no trips to the store.
So stop by my desk and if I’m not there,
leave a sticky note by my chair.
I loves my post-its, I hope you do too.
If not then I guess this rhyme is through.
But if you love post-its like me,
You’re my friend for eternity.

Who is Osama Obama?

October 3, 2008 at 1:45 pm (Random Rambles) (, , , )

Are things just too confusing in the world right now?  I work in a high school and two girls were being tutored in World History.  One of the girls said she does not like dictators like Hitler, Hussein, and Osama Obama.

Sometimes it is really difficult to keep from laughing.  Gems from your kids!
