Looking for Friendship Poems

May 18, 2008 at 2:30 pm (Poetry) (, , )

Today I was looking for some friendship poems to give to some of the people I work with. I was looking for something that was a little different and something that I did not have to write myself. Plus it was fun to see what other people were doing. I did not want a greeting card type of poem either.
I found this site by doing a google search and I enjoyed the content here including the friendship poems. The selections were easy to read and fun. While I am not going to copy the poems here I will leave the link to their site so you can visit the poems.

If you like the poems there leave a comment to let them know, too.

Here is the site.

Have You Heard Of ZenZuu Yet?

May 18, 2008 at 7:20 am (Social Networking) (, , , )

If you like to Beta Test then you might like ZenZuu.  What is ZenZuu?  It is going to be difficult for me to explain but it is a Social Networking site where you can make some friends from all over the world.  Right now it is in Beta testing, but the people there are pretty friendly.

It is FREE to join.  YAY.  I have more information on my Rocques Business Information Blog.  I will probably add more as I find out more.

Since it is a Social Networking site in Beta right now things are not all functioning that well on the site.  I have been able to upload pictures and videos, add friends, send comments, and make a group, but they all seem like they could use improvement.

One reason to join now is that ZenZuu is going to have a revenue sharing plan! It is going to be like MySpace definitely.  However it is going to be MySpace for people who would like to make a little cash for their efforts.  I have no idea what the income potential is, but their ideas seem good to me.  It is a great place for entrepreneurs or people who want to make friends around the world.

Here is my profile link if you want to visit my site and see what it is like.  I even have a join through me button on my profile, so that would be great to have you use it!

This is the information:

Today Is Human Rights Day

May 15, 2008 at 12:06 pm (Motivation-Inspiration) ()

Today is a celebration where I work. You might say it is for Human Rights because it is the high school class graduation ceremony tonight where I teach.  YAY.  I wonder at the possiblities each graduate has before them as they go forth into the world.  Now is the time when they are no longer required by law to be anywhere at any time (other than curfew violations).

Some of my students want to go into the Military, some former students already have.  I almost burst into tears when they come back to visit me in their dress uniforms.  They look so grown up and have changed from students who I was hoping I would inspire into young men and women who have chosen to serve our country as best they can.  They join the military because they want to help people.  They do not really want to go to fight in a war, but they want to help the people who suffer as a result of the war, or as a result of the reason for the war.

Sometimes it is difficult to speak of Human Rights without it getting political or violating someone’s opinion of what is Right and what is Wrong.

Life on planet Earth is not ideal.  It is difficult to face that thousands of people still suffer with malnutrition and hunger daily.  Why should this still be happening?  Can’t we end this?  It has been going on forever it seems.  Will it ever end?

Now we have devestation in China and in the country, or area, that was known as Burma.  Thousands have died in an instant.  Plus the diseases and the effects from the Cyclone and the Earthquake are going to be horrible.

Each year those of us more fortunate get called on to help those of us less fortunate.  While some of us will continue to act as if nothing is wrong there are still several of us who will donate what we can to help.

I am lucky that I get to see the generousity of people where I work.  We donate pennies for patients and fill shopping carts up with food to give to homeless shelters.  People donate DVDs to soldiers in Veteran’s Hospitals so they have some relief from the day to day boredom.  I have others who volunteer at homeless shelters.

Since we have a day to think about the wide area of Human Rights, maybe more and more people will become aware.  Maybe a few more people will take time or some money to support a worthy cause to help someone’s life become a bit better.  I hope we see Helping Humans become a more popular cause in the next year.

Have you heard of trackbacks?

May 11, 2008 at 7:26 pm (Random Rambles) (, , )

Trackbacks are supposed to be a way to get one blog to interact with another blog.  Well I am seeing if I can figure out what they are and how to use them because then when I get something great to add to this blog I can just trackback to it or have them trackback to me.  LOL…yes it all sounds confusing to me and I consider myself to be a bit of a blogging expert.

Ok now that you know even the experts spend hours learning so they can teach others I hope you will think no less of me.

Here is a trackback link to my friend Alex Sysoef’s comments on social networking.  I will speak more of this institution later because when you are looking for support there is often strength in the right social network group.  It does not have to be all about finding someone to date either.  There can be more to it than that.

Ok well I am not sure how to do this at all.  If anyone knows how to set them up please leave me a comment. In the meantime I will experiment here.

I see that when you add your post to a free word press blog you are able to add trackbacks, so I am going to trackback to two links.

1. http://www.howtospoter.com/web-20/social-networking/new-social-network-open-doors

2. http://www.theberrytreenews.com/blog

I will see what does happen and if I get any notices of this activity.

Stay tuned if you are reading this.  Don’t laugh…send help.

Going Back In Time

May 5, 2008 at 8:49 pm (Smile Makers) (, , , )

We were talking about the band The B52’s today. Someone who is 18 and lives in Puerto Rico and me, and oldie but a goodie from California, USA. Wow that was fun going to YouTube and listening to just some pure fun music. If you ever need to cheer someone up send them this link so they can hear the Lobster Song. Rock Lobster.
Well I could not add it to this blog, but if you want to listen to it and see the total nostalgic look I recommend it. You are sure to smile. Here is the link to where I have it posted.

The lyrics are here, too. Enjoy!

May 15 Is Bloggers Unite For Human Rights Day

May 4, 2008 at 3:55 pm (Motivation-Inspiration) (, , )

This is a great idea and I am thrilled to be a part of it.  If you are reading this in time I hope you can be a part of it, too.  How better to be an encourager and an inspiration then to take part in worthy causes.  Education is so important and so much easier to do when we all take a part in it. I feel we have to be responsible as citizens of this great earth to take a part in helping those less fortunate then we are no matter where they are.

This is one small step.  I hope people will be active in participating.
