father even got hot last night.

Only in Alabama !

I don’t think it is only Alabama.  There are great excuses everywhere.  Like, how many times can a grandparent die in one year.  Teacher to Student: “Didn’t they die 3 months ago?   Reply: “Oh no that was my grandmother from my other parent.”  Teacher:  “But I thought they died right before that big project was due last month”.  Student: “Are you calling me a liar?”

Enough said….Keep Smiling!!!

The Irish Blessing Email

April 25, 2008 at 7:12 pm (Email) (, , , )

Have you seen this one yet?  The Irish Blessing Email that keeps going around.  Everything about it is great except for the end part where they say send this on or this will happen.  That part I don’t care for but the rest of it is pretty cool and whether or not it is true it makes a good story.

Here is the quote:

  Irish Luck – Remember to send it back!,
I want this back. It DOES work.

His name was Fleming , and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to make a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog.

There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death.

The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scottsman’s sparse surroundings An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.

‘I want to repay you,’ said the nobleman. ‘You saved my son’s life.’
‘No, I can’t accept payment for what I did,’ the Scottish farmer replied waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer’s own son came to the door of the family hovel.
‘Is that your son?’ the nobleman asked.

‘Yes,’ the farmer replied proudly.

‘I’ll make you a deal. Let me provide him with the level of education my own son will enjoy. If the lad is anything like his father, he’ll no doubt grow to be a man we both will be proud of.’ And that he did.

Farmer Fleming’s son attended the very best schools and in time, graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.

Years afterward, the same nobleman’s son who was saved from the bog was stricken with pneumonia.
What saved his life this time? Penicillin.

The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill . His son’s name?

Sir Winston Churchill .

Someone once said: What goes around comes around.
Work like you don’t need the money.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like nobody’s watching.
Sing like nobody’s listening.
Live like its Heaven on Earth.
It’s National Friendship Week. Send this to
Everyone you consider A FRIEND.

Pass this on, and brighten someone’s day.
AN IRISH FRIENDSHIP WISH: You had better send
this back!! Good Luck!
I hope it works…

May there always be work for your hands to do;

May your purse always hold a coin or two;

May the sun always shine on your windowpane;

May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;

May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

OK, this is what you have to do… Send this to all of your friends.

But – you HAVE to send this within 1 hour from when you open it!

Now……Make A wish!! I hope you made your wish!
Now then, if you send to:
1 person — your wish will be granted in 1 year
3 people — 6 months
5 people — 3 months

6 people — 1 month
7 people — 2 weeks
8 people — 1 week
9 people — 5 days
10 people — 3 days
12 people — 2 days
15 people — 1 day
20 people — 3 hours

If you delete this after you read it, you will have 1 year of bad luck!

But, if you send it to 2 of your friends, you will automatically have 3 years good luck!!!

Well I believe we make most of our luck, but sometimes we need help to make a smile.  I hope this helps.

Move A Million Miles-Help Ryan!

April 24, 2008 at 5:20 am (Motivation-Inspiration) (, , , , , , , , , )

This is so exciting! I got this email at work to help support friends of a co-worker.  Their son is going to the Olympic Games in Bejing.  Now if we all can get active in this wouldn’t it be exciting to watch Ryan compete in the Olympics?  It makes it even more exciting when you know the person competing.

Plus with the growing obesity crisis around the world we can all help Ryan’s cause.  It does not even cost us anything so that is much better.  If you joined the cause please leave a comment.

Dear Friends,
We need your help! A group of wonderful people in Big Bear, called The Lighthouse Project, has taken it upon themselves to challenge all of us to get moving. It started with a seed thought of tackling the problem of childhood obesity. How could they inspire our community to get moving and improve their fitness? They attached this desire with another: how can our community show its support for Ryan Hall and send him off to compete in the Olympic games in Beijing with the love and support of his community? From this an idea was born: lets challenge our community to move a million miles in support of Ryan Hall! It is a huge goal attached to a huge dream but without your help it will be nearly impossible to achieve.
It is easy to do, no money involved. Just go to the website:
All you have to do is log the miles you are running, walking, biking, swimming, etc. on the website. You can go back retroactive to December 23, 2007 when the campaign kicked off. Make it fun; challenge friends, classrooms, teams, etc. There are incentives along the way.
Imagine if each of you would pass this info along to 10 friends, we could have people from all over the world (including Australia) sending Ryan off with all this energy. We thank you for your support of our son Ryan in his Olympic dream. And if you are not already doing so…. GET MOVING!
Thanks so much!

The Start of One More Blog

April 19, 2008 at 5:22 am (Random Rambles) (, , , , , )

Today is the first day for another blog.  Why do I start so many?  I am really not sure.  Hopefully I can keep a theme running in this one of sharing Faith, Hope, and Love, through words of encouragement.  I get so many emails with words of encouragement in them.  Do you?  It is great to get them but then they get deleted or lost.  I am going to use this blog to archive them.

It is going to be fun to watch this blog grow.  I hope I will be faithful to it.  Time will tell.
