Red Skelton

I have expanded into yet another blog. I really enjoy this blog, but I also needed to expand it more and get some extra breathing room I also needed to see if I might be able to add some income to my blogging habit.
While the income would be good, spreading faith and hope and love and encouragement quotes is really important to me.

I recently watched some CDs of the Red Skelton show. A friend’s father passed away and he brought over his dad’s collection. We were watching them, and the humor is great. Red Skelton was one of the early comic geniuses. I can see where he was imitated by the comics we enjoy now. However he brought good clean humor and fun to television. Was life that much simpler then?

At the end of his show, Red Skelton would tell the audience that if he brought some joy and humor into their life and if one day in the future something he did on his show would add a smile or a laugh to someone’s day then he would have felt that he did his job. He ended each show with “God Bless”. What a way to end your television show.

Well just as Red Skelton felt that way, I feel that way. Feel free to visit my other blog, too at

Honey and Cinnamon

May 14, 2009 at 6:35 am (Natural Health) (, , , , )

Here are some interesting facts on honey and cinnamon that I got in an email. Are there any readers who use this mixture with good results?
I am not sure if I have to add a disclaimer to this, but I do know that bee keepers are some of the healthiest people since they get that pure raw honey.
These are all natural ingredients. I bet the Chinese would have good things to add about this, too, since they have ancient medicine that works!

Facts on honey and cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a “Ram Ban” (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any kind of diseases.

Today’s science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada , in its issue dated 17 January, 1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also those who have already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada , various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

Arthritis patients may take daily, morning, and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.

Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.

Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and five teaspoons of honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be applied three times a day until the tooth stops aching.

Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.

Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.

According to the studies done in India and Japan , it is revealed that if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacteria and viral diseases.

Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural
Ingredient which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of cinnamon powder and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans also increases and even a 100 year old, starts performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

Daily in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.

Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than! than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a week.

Mother’s Day 2009

May 10, 2009 at 10:54 am (Motivation-Inspiration) (, , , , , )

I hope your Mother’s Day is a happy celebration.  I will be calling mine to wish her a happy day pretty soon.  I am fortunate to have a good relationship with her and to live within a 2-3 hour drive to visit.

I remember her care and concerns for me as I was growing up.  Now I have cares and concerns for her as our roles reversed.  I go to work every day and work all weekends on my internet businesses, while she is retired and goes out with friends, hangs out with my dad, and stays busy with her many clubs and organizations that she is active in.  I am the one telling her to drive carefully and to not overdo it.

My mother is the most positive and strongest emotional person I have ever known.  The only thing that she did not really teach me were organizational skills.

There is always the dilema of what to get your parents for gifts.  They have everything, don’t they?  How fortunate we are when this is true.  Is this true where you live?  Most likely if you are surfing the internet you do not often wonder where your next meal is coming from.

If you feel blessed because of all you have, and you want to share your blessings, Bloggers Unite recommends this organization.  $25 can feed a child for 6 months.

I just spent 4 times that much at the grocery store and hope it will last 2 weeks.  I can spend $10 just going out to lunch (which I rarely do anymore), and $4 on a treat at Starbucks(which I might do 3-4 times a month).

Most people who have a lot give a lot.  I have not met any people who have a lot who do not support charities.  There is so much need for help.  There are so many places to choose from.  However if you can spare a little more, here is the banner link.

When Life Gets In The Way

May 10, 2009 at 7:29 am (Random Rambles) (, , )

Does life ever get in the way of the things that you would really like to do?  Does that statement even make sense to you? I was thinking of my to do list, and the things that were on it that never got done.  Somehow my priorities got shifted.

I wanted to post for Earth Day, then some other day on April 29, and now here it is Mother’s Day, and what have I accomplished?  Well it is only 8am, so I will still have time to call mom.

I bought a bird feeder since the birdbath that my father gave me for Christmas has been getting non stop use.  It was funny to head out for work and see the frozen water in it.  It reminded me of Charles Schultz cartoons with Woodstock ice skating in the birdbath, or playing ice hockey.  Since I have no roses, I am taking time to watch the birds.

I have noticed migrating birds stopping by for a snack for a few days.  Wow do they ever eat a lot.  It is fun to watch them from my home office window.  The $7 a week food bill is worth it.  Remember when $7.00 a week would buy some groceries?  Remember when $7.00 a week would fill up your gas tank?  Was it really that long ago?

It seems the past month that life has gotten in the way more than once.  I have had several chats with God, but I seem to do that daily anyway.  However some times there is just the meaningless God talks.  Are they meaningless?

April was more like March this year, only it went by faster.  March is usually my month of unrest.  The month never seems to end.  However Arpil was the month of STRESS!!  Income Taxes…WORK!…Layoffs, Budget cuts…Job uncertainty…School board meetings.  Wow.

So all my intentions of doing this and doing that to further the well being of mankind and womankind, and making the world a better place, just flew away.  April became the month of survival.  It was the ME month.

With all that happened, my life is still going on and on.  I have so much to be thankful for.  I can sit here with my shoes off, and with food to eat, and temperature contolled (if it is working today) environment, watching the birds throw all the food out of the feeder and onto the ground.  I can be thankful that I have the $7.00 to feed them, too.

When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.  When life gets in the way, what do you do?  Take time to watch the birds.  They always seem to find something to eat.  The ravens that visit my birdbath use it to soak their food too hard to eat in.  The other day I found remnants of a Subway sandwich in there.  Where a raven found a Subway sandwich I sure do not know.  Ravens take what they find and are happy with it.  A little water makes it better I guess.  Wash away the toughness.

We can learn a lot by watching the birds.  When life gets too tough add water.

Make A Pit Stop In The Rat Race

April 17, 2009 at 6:18 am (Motivation-Inspiration) (, , , , )

It is so easy to get caught up in the work-aholic world of the internet, if you are using it to market, or even as a communication tool to reach out to the world. When was the last time you went outside and found that there are birds singing and weeds breaking through the soil?
I live in the desert so anything breaking through the soil is appreciated for a few minutes anyway. Today’s greenery is tomorrow’s weed abatement notice. Unfortunately that is life when the government is needing more money any way they can get it.

I have been trying for the past few years to have an untamed area of my lot that is devoted to whatever wildflowers want to hang out there. It is improving. Do you know what a Mariposa is? Well I have some. I even got some pictures last year of them. I will have to find what I did with them. It is a rarer flower sort of like a poppy, but I am afraid that they are getting covered over with concrete as this area grows.

Sometimes it seems almost impossible to touch real nature, so we enjoy seeing some pictures of it on the internet. Then the skeptics among us wonder how they photo-shopped those images. Does that sound like you?

I challenge you to find some time in the next 3 months to get out there and brave the great outdoors. If you are laughing at me, it is ok. For some of us the only time we spend out in nature is the time spend walking to our car, and from our car into another building.

Earth day is coming up maybe we can all plant a tree or something, or walk instead of drive, or carpool, or just stay home that day and try not to pollute. I think staying home is a great idea. I better go see when Earth Day is. I might have missed it already. I better check on Bloggers Unite.

~Prayer For Finances~

March 29, 2009 at 7:21 am (Prayer) (, , , )

Not only should we pray for our needs, but do you know others who can use some financial help. Pray should be the first resort not the last resort.
When you pray expect it to work. However remember God has his own time table and it is usually a lot different than our time table. Be patient and never give up on your walk with the Lord.

Just Checking In

March 25, 2009 at 7:43 pm (Christianity, Email) (, , , , )

I just got this email. It is a nice friendship poem that you might want to share.

Minister passing through his church,
in the middle of the day.
Decided to pause by the altar
and see who had come to pray.

Just then the back door opened,
a man came down the aisle.
The minister frowned as he saw,
the man hadn’t shaved in a while..

His shirt was kind a shabby
and his coat was worn and frayed.
The man knelt, he bowed his head,
then rose and walked away.

In the days that followed,
each noon time came this chap.
Each time he knelt just for a moment,
a lunch pail in his lap

Well, the minister’s suspicions grew,
with robbery a main fear.
He decided to stop the man and ask him,
‘What are you doing here?’

The old man said, he worked down the road,
lunch was half an hour.
Lunchtime was his prayer time,
for finding strength and power.

‘I stay only moments, see,
cause the factory’s so far away.
As I kneel here talking to the Lord,
this is kinda what I say.’

The minister, feeling foolish,
told Jim, that was fine.
He told the man that he was welcome
to come and pray just anytime.

‘Time to go’, Jim smiled, said ‘Thanks.’
He hurried to the door.
The minister knelt at the altar,
he’d never done it before.

His cold heart melted, warmed with love,
and met with Jesus there.
And as the tears flowed, in his heart,
he repeated old Jim’s prayer:

Past noon one day, the minister noticed that old Jim hadn’t come.
As more days passed without Jim,
he began to worry some.

At the factory, he asked about him, learning he was ill.
The hospital staff was worried,
But he’d given them a thrill..

The week that Jim was with them,
Brought changes in the ward.
His smiles, a joy contagious..
Changed people, were his reward.

The head nurse couldn’t understand
why Jim was so glad,
when no flowers, calls or cards came,
Not a visitor he had.

The minister stayed by his bed,
He voiced the nurse’s concern.
No friends came to show they cared.
He had nowhere to turn.

Looking surprised, old Jim spoke up
and with a winsome smile said,
‘the nurse is wrong, she couldn’t know,
that he’s in here all the while.’

‘Everyday at noon He’s here,
a dear friend of mine you see.
He sits right down, takes my hand,
leans over and says to me:’

If this blesses you, pass it on.
Many people will walk in and out of your life,
but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart

May God hold you in the palm of His hand
and Angels watch over you.

I pray you are moved
to pass this page on to
your friends & loved ones.

Jesus said:
‘ If you are ashamed of me,’ I will be ashamed
of you before my Father.’

If you are not ashamed, pass this on.
But only if you mean it.

So this is me ……… Just Checking In
